​Legal Manager at a Successful Commercial Bank in Phnom Penh

The Role

Responsible for leading and managing in the preparation and implementation of financial programs addressing compliance, internal control while collaboration with all stakeholders in achieving the goals of the legal and compliance department and organization

Description

  • Support and advise the Bank’s Treasury in the negotiation and drafting of documentation to effect Bank borrowings in the international capital and money markets, and draft or review all legal documents required for the implementation of the Bank‘s borrowing strategy and capital markets transactions

  • Advise on the legal aspects of cash management, bank account agreements, anti-money laundering (know your customer) initiatives, and contracts for the custody or investment of the Bank’s financial resources

  • Review, update and recommend for approval standard documentation, in accordance with market and industry practice, for use in derivative transactions

  • Ensure that organizational legal matters are managed properly, efficiently and that the relevant and respective stakeholders are shared and given proper advice and guidance

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in providing commercial legal services

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, and law

  • Strong legal experience in corporate and commercial matters

  • Native Khmer and Strong command of English is required

  • Solid knowledge of general business law including regulatory framework
