​Commercial Manager (Head of Department) at One of the Global Largest Maritime Transportation at Phnom Penh, Cambodia

The Role

The ideal background for the role is to have hands-on sales experience from the shipping industry, and experience in handling both nominee and freehand customers for both export/import trade. Good understanding of intermodal business. Able to work independently and has a strong collaborative mindset

  • Supervise a team of 3 employees (1 Sales Manager, 1 Trade Coordinator, 1 Corporate Account execute.) Develop clients and increase company service presence (Ocean Freight + Trucking)

  • Provide active leadership to the team (boost motivation, improve their skills and knowledge)

  • Keep the direct relationship with Head-office Liners (volume prospect & shortfall, check space allocation)

  • Lead indoor and outdoor sales for all trades (Export and Import)

  • Farm good relationships with NVO and BCO

  • Develop clientele and increase market presence (Ocean Freight + Trucking)

  • Respond to quotations/inquiries from customers (with the support of the team)

  • Prepare detailed reporting and market surveys (good analytical skills required, with Excel use)

  • Share sales leads throughout the company’s worldwide network, and initiate business connections between POL ó POD and the Head office

  • Attend to customer complaints and coordinate with various internal departments (Documentation, Operation, Accounts, and Transhipment) to resolve the issues and uphold our service commitment to customers


  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or similar

  • A minimum of 3 or 5 years of sales experience in Shipping / Logistic industry

  • At least Business level in English and Mandarin would be added advantages

  • Be able to work under pressure and good at working as a team

  • Constant care of customer’s needs and expectation

  • Great networking skills

  • Strong leadership experience, good experience in intermodal (Trucking, Warehousing)
