Job description
Operations and Government Relations Officer at a Growing Outsourcing Service Company in Phnom Penh
Reporting to Chief Operating Officer (“COO”)
$450 - $750 (with 2 or 3 years working experience)
$300 - $450 (Fresh graduates)
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a strategic approach to advancing relationships with key Government Departments
Ensure every rule and regulation set by the Government is followed regularly
Work closely with the Business Development and Corporate Services teams to remain aware of local and state policies and procedures and provide strategic advice on license applications, submission and investment opportunities for Government approval
To respond to and provide in writing to COO any information requested by clients, such as business permits, processes or licenses, promptly
Provide client's advice regarding permitting, documentation and timelines in writing
Act as spokesperson for the client and representative for the Company on license application to crucial Government departments and elected officials, their staff, and administrative agencies
Take proactive action for any Government Relations issues and processes; raise awareness among the team
Coordinate with key decision-makers to expedite business permits and related approvals
Write and translate Government letters in Khmer and English
Produce Weekly report of status updates to COO in writing
Travel throughout Cambodia as necessary for the approval and negotiation process with Government offices
Audit, review and implement fit and proper processes/best practices across the internal group of companies
Develop new and updated standard operating procedures for all business units and business as usual activities and report to COO
Work COO to Monitor and improve operational management systems, processes and best practices. And ensure all operations are carried out in a secure, timely and cost-effective way. Also, ensure internal staff teams follow standard operating procedures for all business units
Maintain up-to-date, accurate and precise documentation for operational procedures and processes
Support all functions of the businesses to work together
Support operational risk and audit processes
In addition to the above, you will be required to work on special projects that the Company is keen to pursue under the management's direction
Requirements
Minimum Bachelors’ Degree
1 or 2+ years of working experience in the related fields
Customer-oriented attitude
Excellent proficiency of spoken and written English
Outstanding interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
Good knowledge and understanding of government settings and protocols
Strong networking skills and ability to develop strategic working relationships and networks with industry stakeholders, clients and Cambodia Government Ministries
Self-motivated with a willingness to take initiative and solve complex problems
Capability to negotiate with and influence others
Analytically and mathematically minded to analyze data and create necessary reports
Able to work individually as well as with team members
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment
Able to travel regularly
Strong commitment to safety and ethical behavior
