The Role

Description
- Assemble and install mechanical components, modules, and sub-assemblies in accordance with approved drawings, work instructions, and SOPs
- Work with structural assemblies, linear motion systems, rotational mechanisms, and mechanical drive components
- Perform precision alignment and adjustment to achieve accurate geometry, smooth movement, and reliable machine performance
- Carry out equipment leveling, straightness, parallelism, squareness, and other mechanical alignment checks
- Adjust shims, spacers, and other components as required to achieve specified tolerances
- Apply correct torque values and fastening procedures using approved tools and equipment
- Conduct precision measurements using dial indicators, precision levels, gauges, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
- Verify critical mechanical characteristics including runout, straightness, parallelism, and concentricity against defined specifications
- Complete mechanical quality inspection records accurately and ensure all required checks are properly documented
- Identify defects such as misalignment, abnormal movement, surface damage, unusual noise, stiffness, or leaks and escalate issues promptly
- Support corrective actions and rework activities before equipment is handed over to the next production stage
- Maintain high standards of workplace safety, housekeeping, and adherence to standardized work procedures
Requirements
- NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical qualification; equivalent hands-on mechanical assembly experience will also be considered
- Practical experience in mechanical assembly, fitting, installation, or precision equipment assembly
- Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings, technical instructions, and standard operating procedures
- Experience performing mechanical alignment and adjustment using precision measurement equipment
- Good understanding of mechanical tolerances, fastening methods, and precision workmanship
- Experience with industrial or high-precision machinery is an advantage
- Strong attention to detail with a quality-focused and methodical approach to work
- Disciplined in following standardized processes and safety requirements
- Reliable team player with good communication and problem-solving skills
