Production Planner at an International Furniture Factory in Sihanoukville, Cambodia

• Drive production planning and coordinate across production, purchasing, warehouse, QC, sales, and shipping to keep customer orders moving smoothly from production through shipment

The Role

Ideally for organized and proactive Production Planner to manage day-to-day production planning and ensure customer orders are delivered according to schedule. This role will be responsible for translating orders into practical production plans while closely monitoring materials, WIP, output, inspections, and shipment readiness

Description

• Develop monthly and weekly production schedules based on customer orders, available capacity, and material readiness
• Balance production requirements with available resources to maintain smooth and uninterrupted manufacturing operations
• Monitor WIP across production lines and finished goods inventory in the warehouse
• Follow up on inventory discrepancies, production constraints, and material-related issues to prevent delays
• Coordinate closely with Sales/Business, Production, QC, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Shipping teams to ensure production plans are properly executed
• Track actual production output against planned quantities and delivery schedules
• Identify production delays and abnormalities, investigate root causes, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant departments
• Prepare daily production progress reports comparing planned versus actual production
• Develop inspection schedules based on production progress and customer requirements
• Coordinate customer inspection arrangements and communicate updated schedules to Sales/Business and QC teams
• Prepare shipment plans in line with production completion and customer delivery requirements
• Coordinate with the Shipping team to ensure completed orders are ready for dispatch
• Follow up on container arrivals, loading schedules, loading areas, and actual container loading progress
• Maintain accurate and timely production planning information to support effective decision-making
• Continuously improve planning and coordination processes to enhance production efficiency and on-time delivery

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
• Previous experience in production planning, production control, supply chain, or manufacturing operations
• Experience in a furniture manufacturing or similar production environment is an advantage
• Strong understanding of production planning, WIP control, inventory management, and shipment coordination
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify production issues and follow through on solutions
• Good knowledge of MS Office and production planning systems/tools
• Fluent Chinese is mandatory for communication and coordination with the relevant teams
